Michael Betts

Michael Graduated from Canterbury School of Architecture before gaining a broad experience across many sectors and at all stages of design and construction. Michael has previously worked at Associate and Partner Level where he specialised in Residential, Theatre, Cinema, Office, Education and Specialist Housing. With a PGC in Environmental Design, sustainability is an important element which is incorporated into all of his work. Michael leads on the Design Stages within SM12 Architects.

Nigel Lock

Nigel trained at University of East London & then Kingston University before entering practice. Work history has focused on the practical & technical stages of projects, in tender preparation, working drawings & site supervision. Specialising in new construction residential, residential refurbishment projects for homeowners & developers, apartment short stay hotels, education, specialist housing & before joining SM12 Architects in mixed use multi-storey development. Nigel leads on the technical stages within SM12 Architects.

The Team

Our team have a wide range of experience and interests, together with complimentary skills and attributes. They are dedicated to producing buildings of real quality that best answer the briefs provided by our clients. We complete all elements of the project in house from the taking of the brief, to the physical survey of the building or land (where sensible), to production of design options for discussion and agreement, to 3D modelling and rendering views of the proposals, to making the Planning Application, providing the technical drawings and specifications required for Tender and Construction, to contract administration during the build phase and where required post occupancy analysis, which helps us improve what we do. We are very thankful to those currently helping us and those who have helped the practice grow since late 2014.
