Redevelopment of Garages
This development creates 7 new apartments from land currently occupied by garages and the associated access. It slots into a pattern of backland development already well established in this part of Haringey, but is in the main commercial uses rather than residential. The design makes use of the part residential building already constructed with negotiations ongoing with its owners, to create a shared courtyard garden formed from land which is currently heavily overgrown. The building form maximises the use of the site, but as can be seen, each floor steps back from the boundaries against other residential property to prevent overlooking and over shadowing. There are a series of large roof terraces and balconies, each with high perforated metal screens and trees, again to prevent unwanted over looking. The scheme provides a mix of 1, 2 and 3 Bed properties.
