Tuition Centre, Amersham

This scheme Forms part of a mixed development in the heart of Amersham, where the Lower and Upper Ground Floors have been converted into a Tuition Centre for an 11+ specialist Education and Tuition Company. The company runs classes after school and at weekends and has grown through its reputation and accomplishments. This project provides three class room spaces over the 2 floors, along with support areas and necessary facilities. Two of the class rooms are divided by a folding acoustic wall, to allow flexibility within the centre for both Tuition and Exam layouts.

The 2 upper floors have also been extended and converted to provide 3 residential homes, which the client will rent out to cover the site running costs. The scheme includes a ground source heat pump and photovoltaic panels, with the whole building served by these units. The fabric has been insulated as far as possible, with new thermally efficient doors and windows installed throughout. The internal separating structures are acoustic ally lined providing good quality accommodation for both the Tuition Centre and the homes above.
