Refurbishment and Upgrade of Apartment

We joined this project a little late in the day, as works had already started on site, but without any real design drawings and none of the necessary paperwork and permissions in place. Having been recommended by another of our clients to the young family trying to make this their family home, we worked hard to turn things around in the shortest possible time. The project involved the complete modernisation and refurbishment of the apartment with some major and minor alterations to the internal layout. The biggest challenge was opening up the kitchen to the main living area, to provide a large open plan space, to suit this family's needs. The engineer provided a full picture frame with a very thin bottom member so that it could still be hidden by the floor finish. 

The bathroom was enlarged and the very low ceiling raised, once we had re-plumbed the services and drainage to the apartment above. This space also included a Utility Cupboard with washing and drying. The bedrooms includes new joinery, built on site to suit the spaces available. The kitchen used standard carcasses, but the doors were again crafted on site and spray painted by Tamasi Ltd, the main contractor.
