New House, Windsor, Berkshire
This project, for a young family in Windsor, required the existing mock Georgian house to be demolished with a new contemporary and sustainable home built on this island setting. The practice worked with BLP Architects in the early design stages, in a collaborative way, as they had worked with the client for a number of years. We took the project through Planning, Tender, Building Control and managed the contract during the build. The design provides open plan living on Lower Ground and Upper Ground levels, each with links to the gardens via terraces and stairs. The first floor has all of the Bedrooms with a home office in the timber clad top section. The house is super insulated, uses Ground Source Heat Pumps to provide all heating and hot water, including the swimming pool and has a large cluster of Photovoltaic Panels on the roof.
